Ashik Islam, Special correspondent: On the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has ordered the release of 963 prisoners from correctional facilities. His Highness also committed to settling all financial penalties incurred by these inmates, who were serving sentences for various offenses. This compassionate gesture aligns with His Highness’s regular practice of granting pardons during significant holidays like Eid Al-Adha, aiming to provide a fresh start for the released individuals, enabling them to rejoin their families and communities and fostering societal values of forgiveness and compassion.
