Financial Literacy Training Held at Bangladesh Consulate in Dubai

Dubai, UAE: A financial literacy awareness training session, organized in collaboration with Wall Street Exchange, was successfully held at the Bangladesh Consulate General in Dubai. The program was presided over by Consul General Md. Rasheduzzaman and conducted by Commercial Counsellor Ashish Kumar Sarker.

During the session, Sultan Mahmud, Head of Retail at Wallstreet Exchange, highlighted that although 77 percent of UAE residents now use digital payment services, at least 27 percent fall victim to fraud or scams. Citing recent statistics, he noted that authorities were able to recover nearly 140 million dirhams from 15,600 cyber fraud cases. He emphasized that prepaid cards can be an effective tool for safer financial transactions.

The main presentation was delivered by Nabiul Alam, Business Development Manager of Wallstreet Exchange. He discussed consumer protection, e-crime prevention, and key aspects of financial literacy. He also demonstrated how participants can seek support through the UAE Central Bank’s “Sanadak” platform. Attendees described the session as highly informative and practical.

Consul General Md. Rasheduzzaman underscored the importance of financial literacy for the safety and well-being of Bangladeshi expatriates. He urged everyone to stay vigilant against fraud, cybercrime, and other financial risks. He also expressed gratitude to the UAE Central Bank and Wallstreet Exchange for organizing such a valuable program.

The session was attended by the Head of Chancery, counsellors, diplomats, and other officials of the consulate.
