Bangladesh Community Celebrates 54th UAE National Day in a Festive Atmosphere

The United Arab Emirates marked its 54th National Day with vibrant festivities, and Bangladeshi expatriates across the country joined the celebrations with great enthusiasm. Just like the local Emirati population, the Bangladeshi community participated wholeheartedly, turning the occasion into a colorful social gathering. From Abu Dhabi to Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Al Ain—streets, parks and public venues shimmered with lights, parades and various cultural activities.

To commemorate the day, the NTV UAE Viewers’ Forum organized a memorable family picnic that brought together nearly 600 Bangladeshi expatriates. Hosted at Saqr Park in Ras Al Khaimah, the day-long event transformed into a lively festival. The celebration began in the morning with a flag rally and the national anthem, followed by children’s competitions, women’s game shows and sports events for men. Amidst the busy pace of expatriate life, the gathering offered a refreshing taste of home—filled with music, laughter and warm social bonding.

The presence of Bangladeshi families residing across the UAE added vibrant colors to the occasion. From food arrangements to coordinating each activity segment, members of the NTV UAE Forum demonstrated sincere dedication. The event was attended by Md. Arifur Rahman, First Secretary (Press) of the Bangladesh Consulate in Dubai, and Abdullah Al Mamunur Rashid, Second Secretary (NID).

In his speech as chief guest, Md. Arifur Rahman emphasized the importance of timely registration on the “Postal Vote BD” app to ensure voting rights for expatriates. He praised the NTV Forum for its well-organized and disciplined arrangement and expressed hope that such community initiatives would continue in the future.

Overall coordination of the event was led by Mohammad Raza Mallik, President of NTV UAE Forum, while General Secretary Mohammad Nazmul Haque conducted the program. The vice presidents, secretaries and their spouses also played vital roles throughout the event, ensuring its success.

Expatriates attending the celebration shared that the UAE has become their second home. Alongside work, business and educating their children, they carry a deep emotional connection with the UAE, strengthened by their significant contribution to Bangladesh’s economy through remittances. They noted that participating in the UAE’s National Day festivities is always a unique experience and expressed that such cultural and social events should continue to further enhance the friendly relations between the two nations.

Across the Emirates, major roads, shopping malls, skyscrapers, educational institutions and public and private establishments were adorned with national flags and dazzling lights. The UAE government announced a four-day holiday for the public sector and two days for the private sector. Spectacular fireworks illuminated the night sky in several locations.

As the day concluded, prizes were awarded to the winners of children’s competitions and the men’s and women’s games. The event wrapped up with a raffle draw, where five lucky participants received attractive gifts.

Filled with festivity, unity and joyful moments, this year’s UAE National Day celebration left an unforgettable memory for the Bangladeshi expatriate community.
